Started receiving calls from SRA about 2 months ago saying I owe a dept to a certain bank. I have never had a loan at this bank and have never received any notice from said bank.

SRA won't give me any information when this so-called loan took place but they want my SS# and my birth date. I told them to give me the last four digits of the SS# they were looking for and the birth date they had. Of course that did not happen. These people are rude and obnoxious.

Is there a way to find out if this a real company?

I was also told by SRA that this was no laughing matter. Would like to know if anyone out there has had the same problem as me.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Location: Olivet, Michigan

I just experienced the same thing, not 15 minutes ago. I too, have been receiving calls from this company, for a few months.

I also happen to be debt free, so I know that whatever they are claiming I owe, is bogus. Most of the calls are when I am at work, and I simply see the number on my caller ID when I get home. But the few times I have answered, I have been hung up on....until today.

When I took the call today, the woman asked for me by name, or for my wife. I told her I was one of the people she was asking for, so she proceeded to ask me for my address, and last 4 of my SS#.

I asked her what this was pertaining to, and she said it was "for my protection", that I verify that information. I informed her that I knew better than to give personal information to anyone, who would not identify who they were, or why they were calling. She said that "we already have this information, but we need you to verify it, for your protection". I kindly told her that I didn't need protection, and would not give her any personal information, until she told me what this was all about.

She said she understood my hesitation, but asked me to believe her, that his was for my security.

She repeated again, that they already had all my information. I said..."Okay, then tell me what city I live in".

She refused. I then told her that we had nothing else to talk about, and she said "that's fine", and told me to research online, who they are.

I did, and that is how I discovered they are a collection agency, and how I found this page.

I still do not know why they were calling me.

They have been calling my home non-stop for about a week. I answered a call from SRA this morning asking me to verify last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth.

I told them I was not verifying anything. Woman said this was a personal matter and she needed to discuss with me, but couldn't do so without the verification.

How could a company ask that information today????
